A Data Manager provides a method to update an Excel file from a Visio file, or vice versa, without needing to fully overwrite the target file. Alternatively, you can use a Data Manager to maintain synchronised Visio and Excel versions of a Process Map. Currently, Process Navigator also supports the creation and editing of process maps using Microsoft Excel through its import and export commands (see Working with Excel). Exported files that have been edited/ updated can be added to the library. Process Navigator imports files if they are newer than those in the Multi-Map Root. The Data Manager-created Excel file contains the parameters used to create it, so once set-up, the Excel files can ‘auto-update’, maintaining the correct synchronisation between the Visio and Excel files. The Data Managers Menu
