Off-Page Connector Does Not Appear

Symptom

You have two deliverables of the same name - one is an output deliverable, the other an input deliverable - and the Off Page Connector will not appear.

Cause

Process Navigator does not recognise them as linkable.

This could be caused by one or more of the following:

  1. The deliverable names, though appearing the same, are not identical because of extra spaces or carriage returns.
  2. One of the deliverables is not an input or output deliverable, because it has both Customer and Supplier Activities. This may not be obvious in the map if the connectors are not on the left and right sides.
  3. One of the deliverables is not seen as an input or output deliverable because the connection between the deliverable and its activity is not properly linked.
  4. The deliverables are on maps which are on different levels and Level matching is enforced.

Solution

Try these for the above suggested Causes:
  1. Copy the name from one of the deliverables to the other.
  2. Right click each deliverable, select Properties ... and check that there is not an activity listed in both the Customer and Supplier boxes in the bottom right of the window. If this was not intended then remove the incorrect activity. Otherwise you will need to rework your map.
  3. Right click each deliverable, select Properties ... and check that there is an activity listed in either the Customer box (for an input deliverable) or Supplier box (for an output deliverable) in the bottom right of the window. If not, delete the connector and relink the two shapes.
  4. Check whether the maps should be on different levels. If so, then an OPC would not be expected, otherwise see Map Shows Wrong Level to correct the levels.
