Cannot create .vsdx files in Generate Next Level

Symptom

You are using Visio Document (.vsdx) as your default map file type.

The process is:

1. Generate the Next Level in the Map Control Console.
2. Click Browse to enter the filename.
3. Change the file extention from .VSDM to .vsdx.
4. Click Save.
5. Click Finish.
6. You get a red message The selected file is not a Visio XML Drawing (VDX). Please select another file.

Cause

Changing or removing the file extension has resulted in an erroneous error message.

Solution

Do not change the file extension. Although it appears you have selected an incorrect file extention, it will save the file as your default map type.
